Palmer Elementary Celebrates Playground Dedication

Palmer Elementary School celebrated the opening day for Palmer’s new playground on October 23, 2009. Elizabeth Trujillo, Palmer Principal, spoke with much enthusiasm about the wonderful work that was done over the course of the past year in building one of Denver’s newest learning landscape playgrounds. Green Built Homes in Mayfair Neighborhood Denver, CO

Come join me as I tour 654 Ivanhoe Street in Mayfair. It is one of the first modern, green built  homes in the Mayfair neighborhood. Jonathan Coppin of OED2 architecture firm led me on a tour of his newest project at 654 Ivanhoe street in Mayfair. OED2 architects designed this home to conform to new  energy saving techniques for a more energy efficient home.  From the solar panels, vegetative roof cover, energy star appliances and the use of recycled materials this home is a spectacular example of how modern construction and well thought out design can save money. FREE Mayfair Summer Concerts

Mark your calendar now for this Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 6pm to stop by Mayfair Park. You will be delighted to find the Denver Municipal Band performing and filling the air with music. Enjoy the music while  lounging on your picnic blanket with a basket of goodies to share with your friends and family under a beautiful Colorado sky (hopefully rain free). There will be face painting for the kiddos and a few vendors selling refreshments but you are encouraged to bring your own. Palmer Elemantary Playground Groundbreaking Ceremony

Palmer Elementary school celebrated the groundbreaking for their new Learning Landscape playground that will be ready fall of 2009. The ground breaking ceremony happened on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 at 9:00am on the existing playground behind the school. The day began with the presentation of the flag and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. The students then sang a new song written to celebrate their new playground. The song was sung to the tune, “Take me out to the ballgame”. Elizabeth Trujillo, Palmer’s principal, then introduced people who were instrumental in getting the playground approved and funded.
